Unsupported, single-stage bikepacking challenge along the Transpirenaica route. Participants will pass through two staffed control points to validate their ride. Riders are self-sufficient and fully responsible for their safety, logistics and resupply. The clock does not stop, there are no prizes or finisher medals. It’s not a race, it’s a personal challenge to finish the route before cut-off times. The event is open to a maximum of 99 riders of proven experience.

The entry fee is 280€
The Transpirenaica will be open to 99 participants.
Participants can only ride as SOLO, there’s no PAIR category.

Live Tracking
Provided by followmychallenge.com. We will track personal SPOT or inReach devices with an active subscription.
GPRS device rental will be available for an extra fee of 60€, in this case a refundable deposit of 100€ against tracker device loss or damage will be required for each rented tracker to be paid on PayPal the week before the start. The deposit will be refunded via PayPal when the tracker will be returned at the finish line.

2 staffed control points opened 24 hours a day with the option to buy meals and accommodation in tents, shared or private rooms.
Small bag transfer (max 30 litres – 10kg) from the start to the finish line. If you don’t make it to the finish line before the cut-off time we can ship your bag to your home address, shipping costs will be at your charge.

Accommodations, meals and transport.
Insurance: you must have liability, death, accident and health insurance covering emergency rescue, medical expenses and repatriation. Insurance must be valid in Spain and France for the whole duration of the event and cover mountain biking while taking part in races and cycling events. We will ask you to provide a copy of your policy.
Cancellation Policy
In case the rider has to cancel:
90 days before start: 120€ refund.
60 days before start: 60€ refund.
less than 60 days before start: No refund.
The entry is not transferable to next editions or other participants.
In case the organisation has to cancel:
If the event has to be cancelled under Force Majeure events like natural causes, social actions or infrastructure failures, there will be no refund.
In such cases your insurance should refund the amount of the entry fee.
Rules
1.Mandatory equipment
Lights: head lamp, front light, 2 tail lights
Clothing: reflective vest, water proof kit (jacket, pants, gloves, shoes cover), mid layer, down jacket.
Tools: 2 tubes (at least one in traditional butyl), 2 brake pads,

2. Leave no trace
Leave everything as you found it, or better.
Respect Natural Parks rules, don’t cycle or step outside the official paths.
Dispose of, remove and recycle waste. Respect animals and plants.
Non observance will result in DSQ.
3. Be nice to people
Be considerate of others, there is no space for racism, sexism, homophobia or any other kind of discrimination.
Rescue of any other Rider injured or in danger is the priority.
Non observance will result in DSQ.
4. Safety and local laws
Riders must sign and agree with the rider agreement and be older than 18.
Riders are fully responsible for knowing, observing and complying with local laws.
In case of road interruptions or closures, Riders are responsible for finding a way to turn around the interruption and join the official route again.
5. Self-support principles
Participants are not allowed to assist, support or resupply each other and must not receive any 3rd party assistance, private lodging or resupply.
Accommodations or any service can be booked by Riders only after the event starts.

6. Route and Tracking
Riders should follow the official track from start to finish. If they temporarily leave the route they must return to the point they left. The tracker file will validate each ride.
Riders are responsible for their tracking device. If a device is switched OFF or dies because of low batteries the participant will be considered withdrawn.

7. Insurance and Responsibility
Organisers will not provide any insurance, emergency rescue or marshals. Organisers will not be responsible for any direct or indirect damage that may occur to participants or other parties.

8. Code of Honor
A fair and safe Audax depends on fair and honourable Riders.
Applications
End of season weather, night rides and exhaustion add extra challenges to a long route in the mountains. In the application process we will ask participants to prove their experience in multi-days self-supported bikepacking trips. Applications open on Saturday 11 January 2025.
